Keychron K7 Pro QMK/VIA trådlöst anpassat mekaniskt tangentbord (US ANSI-layout)

I have been using this keyboard for about a month now, and it has quickly become my favorite board I’ve ever owned. The low profile feels comfortable to type on all day, and its size makes it easily portable.

Out of the box, the keys feel and sound great with the brown switches, though I bought a few blue switches to place under the Esc, backspace, and the CMD keys to give them a little better feel. I love that it’s so easily customizable. The look of these keys is just about perfect, very clean lettering on a sleek profile with just a hint of nostalgia.

I’ve been using VIA to change the keyboard layout to better suit my usage habits, and it’s great that the software is so easily configurable and the keycaps, since they are all the same profile, can be rearranged in almost any configuration, though I wish Keychron would either add a few common alternative options or allow us to purchase a kit with those options. For example, I quickly changed Caps Lock into Esc, and it would be marvelous to have a keycap I could swap in to reflect that change.

The only negative on this board is that the lighting effects are wonderful but the keycaps don’t have shine-through, so the full effect of the north-facing LEDs is mostly lost.

Also, I’m crossing my fingers that Keychron follows this up with a 60% or—even better—a 40% K Pro board.

This is now the 5th board from Keychron that I have bought (K8, two K6's, and a K3) and this is by far the best one yet for a few reasons.

Keycaps are a nice shape, low profile but slightly contoured and comfortable to type on. The board has enough height that those used to traditional full height keyboards shouldn't find this too hard to get used to. Stabilizer performance out the box is surprisingly good. Almost every key, especially the space bar has no rattle or ticking of any kind. The shift and caps lock keys though use small metal guide bars that came unlubbed, but applying lube to the bars where it attaches to the keycap made it stop ticking. The brown switches are probably tactile enough to satisfy most keyboard enthusiasts, definitely more tactile than most full height brown switches while still being on the quieter side. RGB on this board is very customizable. I'm still getting used to using them and remembering which keys they're bound to, but it's a great feature for easier customization without software. Paired with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ flawlessly with no connection problems and performs great for typing and gaming on my PC when wired. I have not tried much regarding the QMK/VIA customization, but I love that I can easily modify existing shortcuts and keys on the keyboard without fancy software and making special profiles.

If you are in the market for a low profile keyboard that is portable, customizable, and great for both gaming and typing, this easily beats most other options out there.
